Addfield TB-AB
The largest batch machine in the range at 2,000 kg a load, for properties or island facilities taking waste from more than one site.
- Load capacity
- 2,000 kg per batch
- Chamber volume
- 4.18 m³
- Chamber
- 2.45 × 1.6 × 0.92 m
- Manufacturer
- Addfield · United Kingdom

The maker’s plate on the burner housing, with the firebrick loading chamber behind it.
How it works
The largest of the three batch machines: 2,000 kg in a single load, in a chamber half a metre wider than the TB’s. It works exactly as they do — top loading, a primary chamber lined 180 mm deep in high-alumina firebrick, a secondary chamber holding the flue gases at a minimum of 850 °C for two seconds — but at 6.5 tonnes and nearly four metres across the width.
That width is the thing to check first. It needs 3,965 by 3,490 mm of floor and just under four metres of height with the stack, which on an island is a civil-works question before it is an equipment one.
It is specified where one property is not the whole load: an island facility taking waste from more than one site, or a resort group consolidating onto a single machine.
- A primary chamber lined 180 mm deep in interlocking high-alumina firebrick over insulation board and insulating brick — the multi-layer lining Addfield credit for a 40% cut in fuel consumption against comparable machines.
- A pre-cast block impact zone in the loading chamber, taking the hit of loading so the refractory behind it does not.
- A heavy-duty front ram guard, protecting the machine where waste is loaded by JCB or telehandler rather than by hand.
- A counterbalanced lid insulated with refractory fibre: light enough to work by hand, and sealing tightly enough to keep the heat in the chamber.
- A secondary chamber holding the flue gases at a minimum of 850 °C for two seconds, with its own burner, air fans and temperature sensor.
- A PLC control panel — the step up from the AIC panel on the SB and TB.
- 8 mm and 10 mm seam-welded mild steel casing, finished in a two-pack paint system.
Built to order, not standard supply
- Bin tipper — electro-hydraulic, lifting and tipping over 150 kg so a load goes in hands-free.
- Fuel tank, 1,000 to 5,000 litres, for a site with no permanent fuel supply or as a backup to one.
- Data logging on the control panel, where burn records have to be kept automatically.
- De-ashing doors, mechanically loading lids, and alternate loading arrangements, built to order.
Addfield builds these to order. Ask GreenWave for them at enquiry — they are specified before the machine is made, not fitted afterwards.
